STEFAN KNIELY

EXTREME ATHLETE

Give up to win

Stefan Kniely is a stock trader and judo fighter. On May 8, 2022, he broke the murph workout record: 1,900 pull-ups, 3,800 push-ups, 5,700 squats, and a total running distance of 62.64 km in 24 hours. The preparation for this took place during uninterrupted professional activity on a self-developed diet, and without a medical team, physiotherapy or mental coaches. Stefan: "Extreme sports is dedication. Only those who are able to sacrifice themselves completely will succeed."

The two-year preparation period began for Stefan at 5:00 a.m. - with the daily drive to work. The daily 320 km commute and working day, were followed by three hours of workout from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday.

Augmented by intensive sessions on the weekends, Stefan completed his 30-hour weekly program: "That was my life during the pandemic. Get up, work, work out, sleep, get up again."

Helped by friends, without agencies or big sponsors, Stefan organized and financed his world record attempt while continuing work and training. "People often said I am a maniac. But being normal didn't interest me anyway."
